"UWEC Police to launch 'Coffee with a Cop' program" - WEAU13 NEWS

AU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A local university police department is inviting you to join them for a free cup of coffee.

UW-Eau Claire Police is teaming up with Blugold Roast to participate in the program "Coffee with a Cop."

The event will be held Tuesday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at UWEC’s Campus Mall outside the Davies Center. The goal is to build better relationships, one cup at a time. Campus police say everyone is welcome to attend.

“There's no agenda, there's no speeches, it's whatever the community wants to talk about, we want to build relationships, we want to strengthen bonds, we can improve how we police on campus and all through the community,” said Amanda Carrier, Patrol Officer, UW Eau-Claire Police.

Several other law enforcement agencies participate in the 'Coffee with a Cop' program, including the Eau Claire, Menomonie, and Chippewa Falls Police Departments.
